One person is in hospital after a truck jack-knifed on State Highway 5, near Rotorua.
Emergency services were called to the crash on the highway, near Tarawera Café, around 5.30pm on Monday.
Police say a truck had jack-knifed, blocking both lanes of the highway.
'The driver of the truck suffered a medical event and is now in a serious condition in hospital.”
The road was closed for some time, with one lane being re-opened at 8.10pm, says a police spokesperson.
A heavy haulage crane had to be brought into to right the truck and trailer before moving it off the road.
