A slip covering the southbound lane in Waioeka Gorge is expected to cause traffic delays today.
NZTA advise that the slip which happened overnight between Sandys Bridge and Gerrards Bridge on State Highway 2 has caused a road hazard.
Contractors are en route to the site.
Motorists driving the state highway between Opotiki and Gisborne are advised to take caution along this route, to take extra care while passing, and to expect delays.
