Within a 20 minute period, one car hit a tree near Rotoma and another car hit a tree near Lake Okataina.

Police report that a single vehicle went into a tree on State Highway 30 just west of Lake Okataina Rd around 1pm.

"Two people had some minor injuries," says a Police spokesperson.

"The road was down to one lane, and traffic control in place."

Twenty minutes later a car hit a tree on Kawerau Rd near Rotoma.

"The single occupant sustained minor to moderate injuries," says a Police spokesperson.

"A tow has been arranged for the vehicle. There is no road blocking."
