A man jailed for just over four years for molesting three boys under the age of 12, may have more victims that police aren't aware of.

Jared Robert Lammas, 38, has been sentenced to four year and five months in prison when he appeared in Hamilton District Court on Monday.

He was sentenced after pleading guilty to six charges of indecent assault with a child under 12; five of sexual connection with a young person; and one of meeting a young person following sexual grooming.

Lammas has been ordered to serve the entirety of the sentenced without any chance of early release, reports Stuff.

Following the sentence, police are now appealing for any other potential victims to come forward.

'Based on enquiries carried out as part of the prosecution we believe there may be more victims from across Hamilton, Whakatane and Tauranga,” says Detective Matthew Lee.

The offending for which Lammas was sentenced were for assaults against three victims between 2018 and 2020.

'The offending may be historic with the victims likely to have been boys aged 4 -15 years old at the time of the offending,” says Matthew.

Anyone who has information or concerns, and has not yet come forward, is asked to get in touch with Police.

'We would like to reassure those who come forward that the information they provide us will be treated with sensitivity,” says Matthew.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigation team by calling the Police 105 number and quoting file number 201130/9428.
