Further road works will be taking place during this coming week on the Te Puke Highway.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises that the Te Puke Highway, near Pah Road, will be reduced to one lane on Tuesday, August 9.

On the two days following this - Wednesday, August 10, and Thursday, August 11 - the road shoulder will be closed.

"This is to allow the contractor to prepare the site so it can be fully reopened, following completion of the Kaituna Riverbank stabilisation,' says a Waka Kotahi spokesperson.

Tuesday, August 9 - Stop/go traffic management while the contractor removes temporary barriers and lays new line marking on the road.

Wednesday, August 10, and Thursday, August 12 - Shoulder closure while the berm is reinstated outside the Marae.

"We appreciate the impact the lane closure and stop/go will have to people using the road. To minimise the delay, manual stop/go will be in place so the team can actively monitor traffic."

People are asked to take extra care when travelling through the site by following the temporary 30km per hour speed limit, traffic management and directions from staff.

Waka Kotahi thanks motorists for their patience while we complete final stabilisation works beside the Kaituna River.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey. Keep up to date with:
