Rotorua arts committee seeks passionate members

Art project for senior citizens funded by CCS. November 2019.

The Rotorua District Creative Communities Scheme is on the hunt for passionate people from the local arts community to join their committee.

Representatives need to reflect the diverse make-up of our region and have a broad knowledge of local arts activities.

Appointment is for a three-year term; the role of the committee is to assess applications and allocate funding twice a year to help support the arts in Rotorua.

To apply email julie.parsons@rotorualc.nz by February 21.

The Creative Communities Scheme provides funding to local arts projects so that all New Zealanders can be involved in, support or attend, a wide range of events including dance, literature, Māori arts, crafts, film, music, Pacific arts, theatre and visual arts.

'It's wonderful to be able to support and mentor the arts in our community and exciting to see the ideas presented to the committee grow into real opportunities for our people to engage in creative activity," says Rotorua Creative Communities Scheme administrator Julie Parsons.
