Police are making enquiries after a person was located deceased near Waerenga / Mission Bay, Rotorua today.
Police were notified shortly before midday by a member of the public.
"Until we have completed the formal identification process we will be unable to confirm the identity of the body," says a police spokesperson.
Further updates will be provided when they are available.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
